My favourite idea from this piece: writing fiction as “fidgety, dodgy chaos” (a quote from Richard Ford put to apt use by Rolnick). It took Rolnick 13 years to complete his first collection of stories “Pulp and Paper” (published this year). I’d better get back to work.
