If This is an Emergency

This is the title of a story of mine out now in the spring issue of The New Quarterly. Worrier though I am, I could not have predicted that my story of imagined and real catastrophe would come into a world gripped by one so epic in scale. I’ll resist the temptation to create meaning out of coincidence.

So, if you’re in the mood to read about a creeping sense of dread and worries mistimed and misplaced, please check out the latest issue of The New Quarterly. It’s available online now. If you’re a subscriber, the physical copy is slightly delayed, but on its way soon. I can’t wait to read the whole issue.

A very special thank you to Pamela Mulloy and the whole crew at TNQ. This is my third time publishing with them. It always feels great to find a home for a story, but for this particular story in this particular time, it feels something close to magical.
